The Love Challenge Week 7

This is a bit late...Better than never I guess.

Last week we were assigned to send our partner a gift in the mail. I did this and it was okay but since he never checks the mail, I ended bringing it into him HAHA. He was surprised.

Just a side note...We are still stressed with everyday life but our relationship is getting stronger everyday. I have to beleive that this extra effort is paying off.

Week 8: Let him have it.

I'm sure everyone's spouse has something that they love to do. Whether it's watch sports (March Madness anyone?), play video games or go out with buddies for poker night. And perhaps we nag them too much when they do those things. This week, don't just allow him to pick his activity, but suggest it! And when he's sitting around watching a basketball game, offer to get him his favorite snack!Have fun!!

Starting a Coupon Swap

I have made the commitment to be a couponer. I have got myself an organizing binder(review coming up), a mission and a plan. However, I would love to do something with the coupons that I don't and won't use before they expire. So I was wondering, how many of you would be interested in a coupon swap?

It is in the early stages of planning but this is how I envision it...

I will mail (TBD amount) coupons to a participating swap partner on the first Monday of the swap. On the same day, everyone else will also mail his or hers coupon envelope to the assigned person. Take out however many coupons you want and then replace them with the same number of coupons that you have and don't need. So, by Sunday, everyone has received their envelope, taken out coupons, replaced the coupons with the newly clipped from Sunday's paper and will be ready to mail to the next person.

So...Say I'm #1 and there are 5 people in the swap. I mail my coupons to #2. #2 mails to #3, #3 to #4 and #4 to #5, #5 to #1. The coupons would circulate and fresh coupons would be added each week.

If it was decided that each envelope would contain 20 food and 20 non food, the coupons would have to be replenished each week.

There is also the option that if #3 needed 5 of the same coupon, #2 could send it to her even though that was not the rotation.

Does this make since? It does in my head LOL. I would like to find 4 or 5 coupon clippers out there to participate.

Please comment on this post if you are interested.

Button and Blog Designs

I recently had the opportunity to meet a very talented blog designer. Czianya Castro has amazing talent. She is the brains behind my diaper event button and my upcoming Birthday Bash button. Besides her talent and creative ability, she is quick. I have contacted her on 2 occasions and it only took her 3 days to design my buttons.

You can check out her blog out here. She has recent projects and blog layouts posted. Let me know what you think.

CSN Store Giveaway

A few weeks ago, I was contacted by CSN stores and offered the opportunity to review and/or giveaway something from one of the four sites. After hours of browsing, I have not even began to cover all the sites. I found so many wonderful items on these site. There is everything from kitchen supplies and cookware to children's bedding and toys.

I did really enjoy looking at all the kitchen supplies and furniture that they offer. However, I am always looking for educational toys for my toddler. I do have a hard time finding reasonably priced toys that are safe for her to play with. I was very impressed with all the toys that I found on the site at a very reasonable price. After looking for quite some time, I chose the Melissa and Doug Cutting Food Box Play set. This set contains 31 pieces of fruits, vegetables and bread connected by Velcro, giving the child the ability to "slice" the food with a wooden knife. The set also includes a knife and cutting board.

I was very impressed with the pieces. They are brightly decorated, smoothly finished wood. The Velcro allows the child to slice the food and hear the sounds of slicing while being safe.

My daughter LOVES this set. She was so excited to see it in the crate. Once we opened it, she played for hours. She loved mix matching the pieces and saying "Emmy silly." Even her older sibling enjoy making creations.

Allkidsfurniture.com offers a vast selection of Melissa and Doug toys along with hundreds of other name brand toys, bedding and furniture. Best of all is the price. I did compare this toy set and didn't find it cheaper.

Bet you want one, huh?

Head on over to Allkidsfurniture.com and have a look around. The price for the set is $17.99

Bet you would rather win one, huh?

CSN stores has offered one of my lucky readers the chance to win the same set that I reviewed.

Snorg Tees Review and Giveaway

Who doesn't love a great T-Shirt? Everyone in my house does but due to our jobs, we rarely have the chance to wear them. When we do, they have to be a high quality, comfortable shirt. Recently, I was browsing the Internet and came across Snorg Tees. I was given the opportunity to review a Snorg Tee. I spent a good hour searching the website for just the right one. I then came to the conclusion that I had found the perfect one...for my husband.

A bit about Snorg Tees from their site:

SnorgTees got its start back in May 2004 when our group of friends decided that we weren't meant for a real job. We got our options narrowed down to international jewel thieves or internet t-shirt tycoons. Since it was the middle of the summer, we weren't able to find enough ski masks, which left t-shirts as our only option. Fast forward a few years and we've grown to the point where people mistake us for an actual business. We've even shipped a shirt to NASA. That means space. So technically we're a universal company. But we are still just a group of friends who run Snorg because we enjoy it. Here at Snorg, we specialize in pop-culture inspired, random, and all around funny t-shirt designs. Most of the designs on our site are SnorgTees employee creations. But while we think of about 72% of what goes up on the site, 28% of the awesome design ideas come from you, our customers. So if you think you've got a great idea, send it our way. We strive for constant improvements, and it's thanks to you that we're where we are today. So go out there and spread the good word about SnorgTees to everyone you know. Stop strangers in the street and tell them where they can replace that ugly piece of cloth they call a shirt with a genuine Snorg Tee. And don't forget to send in pictures of you showing off your SnorgTees around town. Remember, when you're wearing Snorg, all your pictures look good.

After a long deliberation, we chose...

This had my husbands name ALLLLL over it. There are times that I think if the house were on fire, Calvin may not make it out. He would just say "I'll be there in a minute." LOL. But there were so many other great shirts. It made it really hard to pick just one. Any and all of the shirt about video games would have been great too.

It just so happened that by bestest bloggy friend, CooCooCourtney also did a review. And what do ya know...she got her shirt for her man too. So we decided to allow them to have a modeling show and snapped a few pictures.

They really enjoyed the fashion show! These too guys are the biggest goof balls I know and really fit the theme of the shirts they picked.
We were very impressed with the quality and comfort of the Tee. It was very soft, even out of the packaging. When washed, it did not pile, fade or shrink. This is a big plus because I can think of quite a few shirts that held a big price tag and after washing was a size smaller than before.
So...how many of your significant others are super jealous??
Bet you want one, huh?
Head on over to Snorg Tees and pick your favorite(wont be easy)
Bet you would rather win one, huh?

The Love Challenge Week 6

Wow! I can't beleive how fast these 20 weeks are going by.

This past week was great. It just so happened that it was my birthday on Friday. He had planned something for Sunday (today) because I told him I had to work...I did have to but I cancelled. I planned the night for us from babysitter to dinner to after dinner activities AHEM!! He was so shocked and excited when I arrived home early and announced that we were going out.

Week 7:
Take 10 for him This week, you need to do something to yourself for your husband. Take 10 minutes before bedtime to make yourself "presentable." It could be wearing something nice, taking a shower, putting on a little make-up and perfume. Whatever. When you feel nice, you feel better about being intimate. What you do after that is up to you. ;)

Aden and Anais Sleeping Bag Revie

A couple months ago, I was contacted by Aden + Anais and given the opportunity to host a giveaway of an Aden + Anais sleeping bag on my blog. When I heard that this was for SIDS awareness, I jumped right on board.

As most of my readers know, my Kaleb got his wings March 11, 2002 due to SIDS. This was the worst thing that has ever happened to me in my life. I devoted my next few years to learning everything I can about SIDS. One conclusion is that you should not dress your baby too hot or use heavy blankets.

My Emma hates blankets. When she was small, I would swaddle her in a swaddling blanket. Now that she is 20 months old, I surely can't swaddle her. I was so excited to receive a Sleeping Bag. This neat bags are made of light muslin. This material is breathable and keeps your baby from overheating. It also washes up easily. This is the perfect solution to moving a baby from swaddling. The bag zips from top to bottom, keeping the zipper away from your baby's face. We received size XLarge. It is a bit big but not too big. She will be able to use this for quite awhile because she is a bit smaller than her equal aged peers. Since Emma is walking, I wait for her to fall asleep and then put her in the bag. She has no problem rolling over and moving around in her sleep. She is almost able to unzip herself in the morning : )

You can buy your own Aden + Anais Sleeping Bag online for $29.99.

**I received an Aden + Anais Sleeping Bag for review. I did not receive any other compensation. The receipt of the bag did not influence my opinion in any way. This review is my opinion and yours may differ.**

Scandle Candle Review and Giveaway

There is nothing more than a romantic night with lit candles and a nice massage. I love the scents of aromatherapy candles when they are lit. It helps me relax and leaves a fresh scent behind. And I can't think of anything better than a massage before bedtime. It is so relaxing and enjoyable. So what do you get when you put these two things together?
Scandle Candle of course. These wonderfully scented candles are scented with wonderful aromatherapy smells. When lit and melted down, they let off a fabulous aroma and produce a warm massage oil instead of wax. This oil can be used to massage your partner!

I recently had the opportunity to review a travel size Scandle candle in the Uplifting Blend. The name says it all. The smell was very clean and refreshing. It truly is an uplifting experience. The smell filled my room and hallway with the wonderful scent. I have used this candle twice and still have quite a bit left. The travel version has between 15-30 hours of burn time. The oil was very nice on my skin. It was just hot enough to feel good but did not burn me. My skin was very smooth after using it...not greasy or sticky. I have used similar candles in the past but they don't add up to the quality and price of Scandle. I will definitely be a repeat customer in the future.

Bet you want one, huh?
You can purchase you Scandle candle online for about $14.00.

Tommee Tippie Review and Giveaway

In the 9 years of my child rearing, I have used, and thrown away, more sippy cups that I could even begin to count. There are some cups that my children like because of the handles or the size but they leak everywhere. Prior to having the opportunity to review the Tommee Tippee, I had exactly 14 in my cabinet. 2 without lids and 3 missing the stoppers. So, nine of these had all the pieces but all 9 leaked. This is not a great statistic.

Tommee Tippee has been the best selling brand of infant and toddler feeding products in the UK for years. Now, they have brought their Closer to Nature bottles and Explora line of cups to the US!

Tommee Tippee Product Details
Truly non-spill
Super sensitive easy drinking
Easy to hold for little hands
Flexible spout to support healthy oral development
The easy drink beaker is available in pink, blue and green
BPA free
Soft and sensitive spout with flexible ribs
Hygiene cap

Tommee Tippee sent us 2 Explora Easy Drink Beaker Cups, 1 in pink and 1 in purple. When Emma first saw the cup, she said "Pitty" which in English means pretty.

Needless to say, Tommee Tippee is now the favorite cup in the house. The rubber grips on the side make holding the cup very easy for Emma. The spout truly is flexible and makes drinking easier on her gums and teeth. Even when shook, the cup doesn't leak due to the 2 piece stopper in the lid. Being 2 pieces makes cleaning simple by just popping the two apart to wash. Pus, they are dishwasher safe.

Overall, we really enjoy using the Tommee Tippee cups. We have decided to part with most all of the other cups in the cabinet.

Bet you want one, huh?
You can buy Tommee Tippee at Babies Are Us for about $4.99.
Bet you would rather win one, huh?

The Love Challenge Week 4

Week 4:
This week was somewhat weird. I guess it was because I really don't do this often enough. DH has no idea that I am participating in this challenge so he thinks I'm having moments HAHA. I was able to compliment him at least once each day so this week went well overall. I do want to make this a normal part of my day.

Week 5: You've Got Mail!
Who doesn't love getting snail mail?? So, send your sweetie a little something by way of the USPS. Send it to his work or even to the house. Or if you're really good at planning, send it to the hotel he'll be at on his business trip! It could be an old fashioned love note, a box of chocolates or a sexy little nightie! (wink, wink)

Good luck and have fun!

Sprout Baby Review and Giveaway

"Love Your Baby.Love The Planet."

What a wonderful motto! Once I heard this, I had to further investigate the makings of such a strong standing company.

I was very impressed with Sprout Baby's website. I found anything and everything for my baby on this site from bath time to lunchtime to diapering time. They have it all. And it all organic products...free from all the scary chemicals that you find in products these days.

When Sprout offered me a review, I was delighted. They sent me the Eric Carle line Episencial Sunny Sunscreen and several small packets of Playful Foaming Wash. Being a Preschool teacher, I love Eric Carle, regardless if the product works. Just kidding.

I have to start by saying that my Emma has horrid skin. It is very easily irritated. Her skin gets very chapped and even the most gentle products hurt her. Even some clothing is a no no when it comes to her skin.

I try to always put sunscreen on her when we go out, even though its only March. However, this is no small feat. A good sunscreen that is made for children without harsh chemicals isn't easy to fine. I was very impressed with this sunscreen. It is SPF 35. It has only a very faint smell which I like. I hate products that are really strong. The sunscreen was light and absorbed in her skin in no time. There was no greasy feel afterwards which is also great. It is organic!!!!! Made with Green Tea, Shae Butter and Zinc. Made in the USA!

I also was very happy with the Playful Foaming Wash. It lathered up nice but not too much. It had a very pleasant smell and was not overwhelming. Emma smelt clean after her bath but like perfume. She did not break out after I used this on her! The wash is a vegan product made from fruit extracts and thyme oil. The wash is made for sensitive skin and baby's with cradle cap.

I am very happy with the results of Sprout Baby. I am relieved that I finally found a baby wash and sunscreen that works with Emma's skin and produces great results!

My Princess Party to Go Reveiw and Giveaway

In my family, I have 2 girls. My oldest is so not girly. She hates having her hair done, dressing up and doesn't even like makeup. So when I had my 2nd girl, I was determined to have a girly girl. Luckily, my Emma is all I could have wanted in a girly girl...plus some. Being only 19 months, she loves her hair (what she has anyway) done, loves makeup, rings, dress up shoes and anything frilly.

When I found My Princess Party, I knew this is just what Emma needed. Her birthday is coming up in July and she will be 2. She really isnt "into" anything. I was really struggling with what theme I was going to use for her party. My Princess Party has answered all those questions.

I was offered the chance to review My Princess Party in a bag. This set included a blue tutu, tiera, and wand with all the frills to go along with it. In addition, it also included a foam tutu to decorate and came in a really nice Shimmering Organza Bag.

This company also offers party favor bags, crafts, gowns, fairy wings, feather boas and boys dress up clothes to complete the party. The prices are very reasonably priced and will complement any celebration.

Emma really enjoyed her dress up time. She really is a cheeseball for the camera. She did not want to take it off when it was time for her to get ready for bed.

I really enjoyed that the material was kid friendly. The tutu was very soft and gentle on the skin. The tiera was flexiable so that it didnt break easy or hurt Emma's head when she wore it. The wand was also flexible so that even if she bent it, the wand did not break. And best of all, I have a bag to store everything in until the next dress up time!

All Childrens Furniture

I recently found a wonderful website for all your children's toys, decorations, and educational playtime needs. I was very impressed with the wide selection of quality toys and kids furniture available in one website. Allchildrensfurniture.com offers high quality toys that spark imaginary playtime. There are over 9,000 toys in one spot. How's that for a one stop shop!!

But what I really have my eye on is the Melissa and Doug playsets. The cutting food box set is my favorite. Being a Preschool teacher, I really appreciate all the educational aspects that this toy brings, such as imaginary play, sensory and tactile stimulation and fine motor skill development.

Stay tuned for an upcoming review and giveaway from Allchildrensfurniture.com
