Smelly Towel Review and Giveaway

For over a year now, I have struggled with my towels smelling sour. One time, long ago, I forgot my towels in the washer too long. Ever since then, I have struggled with them smelling sour. So when I was contacted to review Smelly Towel, I jumped on the chance.

I have since learned quite a bit about why towels and clothes smell.


Overuse of detergents, using fabric softener and/or using only low water temperatures for washing will cause odor in your washer. The odor-causing residue and mold spores are transferred to towels and clothing and are impossible to remove until the washer has been cleaned. This was next to impossible to do, by the way. I bleached my washer using the hot cycle several times without results before I used Smelly Towel.

Smelly Towel was very easy to use. Fill your washer with HOT water, a full cap of Smelly Towel and then add your towels or clothing. Do not use detergent. Sometimes, if the smell is extreme, you might need to soak them for up to 2 hours.

I ended up washing all the clothing and towels in my home just to be sure I got rid of all the mold and mildew. Since then I have had no problem with any smells. I am very pleased with the fresh and clean smell that Smelly Towel leaves behind. I do continue to use Smelly Towel with all my towels. Also I have reduced the amount of detergent that I use and I am also using hot water in these loads.
