Starting a Coupon Swap

I have made the commitment to be a couponer. I have got myself an organizing binder(review coming up), a mission and a plan. However, I would love to do something with the coupons that I don't and won't use before they expire. So I was wondering, how many of you would be interested in a coupon swap?

It is in the early stages of planning but this is how I envision it...

I will mail (TBD amount) coupons to a participating swap partner on the first Monday of the swap. On the same day, everyone else will also mail his or hers coupon envelope to the assigned person. Take out however many coupons you want and then replace them with the same number of coupons that you have and don't need. So, by Sunday, everyone has received their envelope, taken out coupons, replaced the coupons with the newly clipped from Sunday's paper and will be ready to mail to the next person.

So...Say I'm #1 and there are 5 people in the swap. I mail my coupons to #2. #2 mails to #3, #3 to #4 and #4 to #5, #5 to #1. The coupons would circulate and fresh coupons would be added each week.

If it was decided that each envelope would contain 20 food and 20 non food, the coupons would have to be replenished each week.

There is also the option that if #3 needed 5 of the same coupon, #2 could send it to her even though that was not the rotation.

Does this make since? It does in my head LOL. I would like to find 4 or 5 coupon clippers out there to participate.

Please comment on this post if you are interested.

  3. It sounds like a good idea- I'm not a coupon person, but I know a lot of people are!
