Being a mom of 3, I have read many books and have been told a million different theories to raise my baby right. I am a preschool teacher and hold a B S in Child Psychology and Elementary Education, so I do have a pretty good idea of what may and may not work as far a baby raising.
I grew up with a girl who was born deaf. Therefore, I learned the language as a small child and never forgot it. My son, who is 6 now, learned a lot before the age of 1. He could communicate with no problems.
Now, Emma who is almost one, is also learning. It is amazing the amount of knowledge a child can absorb at one time. In one week, I have taught her please, bath, cup, more and eat. She has about 35 words in her sign vocab and she isn't even 1.
I personally believe that this is why my youngest children were so much more content than my oldest, who I didn't teach sign. (Mother of the Year, I know)
So, I would like to know your opinions. Have you had a a similar experience in your baby raising?

What A Day
It is 9:35 am and I'm already ready for the day to be over. My husband has been here for 4 days helping me and today he had to go back to work. My day started at 6am when my sweet Emma woke up ready to play. Needless to say, I was not ready. In addition to, I have a huge headache. Anyway, she didn't want to eat anything so where did it end up?? FLOOR!! And, she was so whiny! Emma went into her pack and play after breakfast. It didn't take very long for Emma to fall back to sleep. I was quite relieved. My wonderful 8 year old decided to rise and shine not long after that. However, she wasn't very pleasant either. She literally rolled out of her bed onto the floor, creating a very loud THUMP. Then she stomped out of her room, into the living room and threw herself, huffing and puffing, onto the couch! Due to her violent thrusting, she hit her head on the phone laying behind the couch cushion. This caused massive drama. You would have though death was next for her. Well, I guess you already know that woke up the baby, who still needed more sleep. So now I have 2 sobbing children and again it is now 9:43. I can't wait to see what the rest of my day holds.

Safety Tats
I have come across one of the coolest products ever. Safety Tats http://store.safetytat.com/store/ are kid friendly tattoos that you can write your child's phone number on in case the child gets lost. Anything can happen anywhere. We as parents take every precaution that we can but children can get lost. This tat is one reassurance that your child will be safe. The greatest thing about them is that they are non toxic and are easy to remove and apply. Waterproof too! What a wonderful idea.

Wupzey Products
Being a mommy of 3, life doesn't need to be any harder than it already is. Any product that I can find that will decrease the time I am cleaning and increase the time I spend with my kids is a plus in my book. My 11 month old throws food on the floor at every meal. This means I am cleaning the floor at the end of every meal. The Wupzey food catcher hooks onto you child's chair to catch all the dropped food! I am sold. www.wupzey.com I am always looking for products just like this. I just happened to find this wonderful product on www.happilyblended.com.
